I AM EXCITED TO GET TO KNOW YOU AND CAPTURE YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. MY STYLE IS FINE ART LIFESTYLE; AND MY GOAL IS TO CAPTURE YOUR FAMILY’S CONNECTION, EMOTIONS, AND UNIQUENESS. HERE IS SOME INFORMATION TO HELP YOU PREPARE FOR YOUR SESSION WITH ME.
Location: Together, we will decide on the best location for your photos. Some of my favorite locations include: Wrightsville Beach, Kure Beach and Ft Fisher, Arboretum, Airlie Gardens, Greenfield Lake, Hugh McRae Park, and Downtown Wilmington. I am always open to any new locations and want a location that fits you, your personality, and style.
What time will the session be? If we are shooting outside the best light is around 1 hour before sunset. This will provide that beautiful golden hour light. If session is in the home,I prefer late morning, because that is when homes are usually lit up the best.
What To Wear: Wardrobe should be comfortable and reflect who you are. Where something that you feel confident in. I do not recommend matching but rather coordinating. Try to avoid neon colors or graphics. Graphics can be distracting and also “date” your photos. Instead go for solids and textures. Neutrals and earthtones are always flattering, as well as light solid colors.
Props: I do not use props during my sessions, however I do like to bring a blanket or something to sit on if shooting outside. if you have something in mind please let me know.
Your Children: Remember that children don’t love being told to pose or smile. And when they do ~ we usually get a big cheesy and unnatural one. It is best if we just give the children time to relax and try to capture their natural self. Don’t worry if your child is running about and active. These sessions are not that family photos where everyone is looking at the camera with a cue to smile. (Although we will get one for the grandparents!)They are about capturing who your children (and you) are at this moment in time. To get the family shots, I usually direct the adults to simply “be” with the child, or hold the child and we go from there.
Can I bring a pet or dog? ABSOLUTELY!!!
